Mid-South Surgeons was founded in 1990 by James W. Richardson, Jr., M.D. with the vision of creating a surgical practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. Mark S. Hinson, M.D. Dr. Hinson earned a medical degree from The University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1993. He successfully completed his General Surgery Residency at The University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1998. Dr. Hinson is board certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Special interests include advanced laparoscopic procedures (colorectal, hernia, gallbladder) and minimally invasive breast procedures.
Dr. Piercy earned a medical degree from East Carolina University in 1998. He successfully completed his General Surgery Residency at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, in 2004. He later completed his Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Wake Forest University, Baptist Medical center in 2006. Dr. Piercy is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery & the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society. Melanie earned a B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1999. She completed the Surgical Physicians Assistant program at the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 2002. She is certified in primary care with special interest certification in surgery through the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the American Association of Surgical Physicians Assistants & the Tennessee Academy of Physicians Assistants. |
